Earlier this year, Abbie addressed her followers in a lengthy statement to announce her BBC Yorkshire exit.
She revealed: “The only thing crazier than landing your dream job is handing your notice in for it…
“A long, emotional caption so buckle up.
“8 years ago today I walked into BBC Yorkshire as a staff weather presenter for the first time and, in spite of the initial 2:30am alarms, have been living my actual dream in this amazing corporation ever since.
“But as they say, all good things must come to an end and the end is in sight (still a couple of weeks off so plenty more reminiscent spam to come).”
TShe added: “Thank you for welcoming me onto your screens, into your radios and onto your phones. It’s been a privilege that’s not lost on me.
“The future is looking bright.”
In response to Abbie’s announcement, one viewer wrote: “Good luck for your future and thank you for sharing 8 years with us.”
Another added: “It’s been an absolute pleasure, thank you for informing, educating and entertaining us over the last 8 years.
“I send you my very best wishes in your future ventures.”
Whilst a third commented: “Good luck in pastures new Abbie.
“I won’t be alone in asking but if it’s dream job why leave? Obvs moving on to bigger/better things I guess.”
A fourth echoed: “Will miss your lovely smiles Abbie good luck for Whatever you do next. Take care lovely lady.”

In April, Abbie found herself in a spot of bother after becoming tongue-tied while trying to give a weather report.
The presenter shared a behind-the-scenes of herself getting tongue-tied as she tried to film her report, admitting she was having “a right mare.”
Each time, Abbie walked off out of view of the camera before starting the video again.
But Abbie poked fun at her blunders and used the video to remind her fans that everyone can make mistakes.
